Veterans Memorial Medical Center Experience

It has been three weeks since my grandmother passed away. We are sad for our loss but at the same time happy that our precious grandmother has already rested from all her pain and suffering at the hospital. She was initially diagnosed to have a kidney failure and other complications. In those three weeks that she stayed at Veterans Memorial Medical Center, she was revived three times. She died at the fourth attempt for revival. I am grateful for all of my family and relatives who took care of our grandmother while she was living.

However, let me share to you some of my observation and opinion with Veterans Memorial Medical Center. I visited my grandmother at the hospital a week after she was admitted. In my three-hour stay at the hospital, I have seen just one pair of nurses who had tried to extract blood from my grandmother in different parts of her body for over 30 minutes with very little success. It’s like watching the anime I’ve seen in the past portraying nursing students struggling to extract blood from each other. The only difference is that this time, it is real life scenario and it is my grandmother who is the patient. I did not see any other nurse attending to any patient in my grandmother’s ward with approximately eight patients. Unsurprisingly, I did not get a glimpse of any doctor attending to a patient at that time. Maybe they’re just out for an extended lunch break at 3pm. I don’t know.

What’s So Special With November?

August – Na-ospital ako for some undiagnosed but severe upper left abdominal pain. Kinailangan kong uminom ng mefenamic every 6 hours halos to relieve the pain for 3 days.

September – Super busy with work projects and thesis project. Met a handful of online friends and dabarkads.

October – Birthday ni bossing noong 15. Spaghetti and loot bags for classmates, tons of cake for my workmates, cake and lechon manok for my family. Super busy day.

The Friendly Care Clinic Experience

What: Friendly Care Clinic – a private medical clinic whose vision is to provide high quality health care and services.

Where: #710 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City

When: April 26 and 28, 2010

Why: Pre-employment physical examination

I’m still alive! Gosh!

Napakabilis magkasakit ni Alex these days.

Overcoming Gall Stones

Grapefruit and Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Grapefruit and Olive Oil

August 2, 2009, Sunday night, when my side started to hurt a bit everytime I dance. My sister and I were trying to get some dance steps then from a music video then and I realized I can’t stretch my tummy anymore but I can still move my other body parts freely.

Next day when I woke up, some part of my tummy right under my right rib cage, started to hurt so painfully I couldn’t get up anymore. I was nearly crying trying to get help from my brother to pull me up.

The first thing that came to my mind is to consult my bestfriend Daisy, who has just recovered from appendicitis. She texted me her symptoms in the past but still strongly advised to consult a doctor as soon as possible.
